The National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), takes a holistic view of e-Governance initiatives across the country. A massive countrywide infrastructure reaching down to the remotest of villages is evolving, and large-scale digitization of records is taking place. The objective is: Make all Government services accessible to the common man in his locality, through common service delivery outlets, and ensure efficiency, transparency, and reliability.
CSCs are a strategic cornerstone of the NeGP. They provide high quality and cost-effective video, voice and data content and services in e-governance, education, health, telemedicine, and entertainment. They offer web-enabled services in rural areas, including application forms, certificates, and utility payments.
CSCs are called Pragya Kendras in Jharkhand. They are panchayat level rural digital hubs set up to serve a cluster of 5-6 villages. Each CSC has IT infrastructure and connectivity acting as a Panchayat digital access point. VMM has been designated as Service Centre Agency (SCA) for Palamu Zone of Jharkhand covering 600 panchayats with 600 CSCs.
VMM has implemented plethora of services in the region for the past 7 years. The essential services provided are delivered in convergent mode:
